中国社会科学院院士陶文钊说，中国在逐步走向民主。他说：“邓小平先生当初估计，中国可能会在2050年举行选举，这当然还只是一种估计，我们要看情况。”他说，他相信中国最终会举行自己的大选，不过这不会很快发生。
